There’s nothing like a dome!!

There’s nothing like a dome!!

Do domes matter?

Hearing Aid Superheroes

Domes are tiny hearing aid super heroes!

Domes: the good, the bad and yes, let’s face it, often; the waxy!

Hearing aid domes are more use than ornament.  They are a super important part of your hearing aid fitting and set up.  They have a lot of weight resting on their shoulders.

They’re Super Heroes!

What happens if it comes off in my ear?

As these two lovely gentleman ably demonstrate in this little film, it isn’t the end of the world if your hearing aid dome comes off in your ear.  It will be advisable in that situation to get some ‘proper’ help.  However, so long as you take a little time to secure them properly and give them a check now and then, there’s really  no reason for it to (if you’re unsure, watch our video at the top).  We’re always here if you need us.  We can help you on a video call.

Hearing Aid Domes
Does (hearing aid dome) size matter?

Does size matter!?

It’s another ‘yes’ from us!  Dome size matters.

Here’s a pic of some power domes.  Small, medium and large.

A well fitting hearing aid dome is going to stand you in very good stead.  It will help give you the correct volume and sound from your hearing aid to help you hear your best.   If your dome is too small it could very well feel a little bit itchy and tickly as it will irritate the ends of the tiny (or sometimes not so tiny!?) hairs in your ear canal.  Much better than irritating everyone around you – eh?  If it is too big your super sensitive ears will tell you (ouch!).  And if it’s just right, it’s just right.  Again, any questions – please do call us on 0330 230 3333.

Does it matter what type of dome I have?

We have a horrid feeling we’re going to get marked down for repetition but it’s ‘yes’ again from us!

Just like us, domes come in all different shapes and sizes.  As you can see from our pic, there’s a type for everyone.  We’ve already talked about how size matters.  Style is just as important.  Wearing hearing aids isn’t easy.  There’s a lot of compromise and adjustment involved.  Everyone has an ‘ideal’ based on the level and pattern of their hearing loss.  However, sometimes as in life we have to adjust and adapt.  We’ll do our best to help you embrace the one that will probably help you the most.  However, it might not suit you the best.  In which case, we’re with you every step of the way (bit like a Labrador).  Any concerns, CONTACT US!

Note to selves:  Ai has it’s uses but ….

We asked ChatGPT to create us an image of the sentries changing guard at Buckingham Palace wearing hearing aid domes and….

this is what we got!

Changing of the hearing aid domes 2

Changing of the (hearing aid) domes!

There’s nothing like a dome – a nice, newly changed dome.

How often do you change yours?

That almost sounds like a loaded question – doesn’t it?  It’s absolutely not. We’re all so different and our ears are even more so. We’re struggling to think of a good comparison.  It’s a good idea to check your hearing aids over daily.  To give then a bit of a wipe to prevent any wax buildup and you’ll know when the time’s right.  We’ll give you a clue, it’ll look a little waxy!  Maybe have a look at ‘how to love your hearing aids‘.

If at first you don't succeed....

So, we tried again and suggested maybe they could look a little bit more like they were wearing hearing aid domes….

and we got…..

Third time lucky?

Not ones to be easily defeated….

Our last role of the dice was:

OK, let’s just ditch the bear skins and go with domes only and Ta Dah – spot on!!??
