Resound Vivia - small but mighty!
Definitely the best Resound hearing aid ever!

As a leading manufacturer Zoe was expecting great things from this key AI enabled release from Resound and she wasn’t disappointed.
Super hearing aids, Super dogs, Super Vets - just super!
As a keen hiker with a passion for outdoor pursuits, a really important test of a hearing aid for Zoe is how natural they make ‘natural sounds’, sound! What better way to put them through their paces than by an Autumn leaf kicking walk with incredible Angus. Affordable Hearing’s amazing 2.75 legged dog. Angus had a serious accident in 2020 and was put back together by the equally incredible Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick. Ai - more fuss than function?
So what has AI ever done for us? Hmm, at Affordable Hearing our jury is still well and truly out on this one. These brilliant little (more on that in a min!) hearing aids from Resound may be swinging our verdict. The Ai capabilities of the Phonak Infinio Sphere are incredibly impressive. The extra help that they give in challenging listening environments tackling the dreaded background noise issue is impressive. However, the compromise in size and battery life had us sitting on the fence on ‘to Ai or not to Ai’. The Resound Vivia seems to have cracked it. A bit of healthy disorganisation saw us testing them to the end of their battery life. We were astounded that they clocked an extraordinary 36+ hours on a single charge. Size matters!
Deaf Co-Founder Zoe is the diminutive child of a diminutive Mother and well versed in many different ways of saying: size doesn’t matter! However, in this case, it does! For an Ai hearing aid, the Vivia are tiny! Proving that the ‘best things really do come in small packages’ and ‘they don’t make diamonds as big as bricks’. You can pick your own adage if you like? However, the Resound Vivia is a teeny, tiny hearing aid with no compromise on features. Unless you happen to be the BFG you’ll appreciate having less congestion behind your ear. Ai hearing aids - rising to the challenge!
We’re long overdue doing a ‘proper’ article on Ai Hearing Aids. In the absence of that we’ll squeeze a little of it into a paragraph – here goes!
Ai is new! It is hugely exciting in relation to its potential. Hearing Aids with Ai are very expensive. Not all of us need or will benefit enough from Ai in our hearing aids to make it worth the added cost. Ai is going to progress heaps at increasingly fast paces. If you upgrade every year or so – enjoy it. If not, it may be worth waiting for a while. Zöe navigated busy Edinburgh, Waverley station in the Friday afternoon rush hour and found the Vivia really helpful.

Filming our Resound Vivia review with Amazing Angus has reminded us to take a breath and count our blessings! Angus’ accident and his grace throughout his recovery showed us just how incredible animals are. Double ‘A’, Amazing Angus showed us the power of relinquishing attachment, accepting and adapting.
